D-Mac showin em why he’s at the top of the depth chart
Untouchable…literally tho, that’s what red jerseys mean
Make it full circle & come back to where it all started!
A guy who expresses his views strongly (including supporting marriage equality & getting Guy in the HOF) and a great punter. Definitely someone I’m glad to have on the team for both his talent and as a person. Welcome to the Silver & Black!
Amy Trask, the NFL’s first female executive, has retired. Once a Raider, always a Raider, and Ms. Trask was one of the best.
I thought we did pretty good overall with the number of picks we had. First, I like that we turned 7 picks into 10. It’s always nice to get more picks when you’re a team like ours with many needs. Let’s start with our 1st rounder. I expected to get a dominant DT in the 1st since I thought there were some solid DBs in later rounds. My main target was Floyd, and even after dropping to 12 he was still available so I thought it was an obvious pick. WRONG! After looking into Hayden tho I’m not mad at all. He is a great corner. The word thrown around with him is shut-down, which is always good. The only knock on him is obviously the injury he suffered and how it has affected him mentally and even physically. I’m excited to see how he responds, where he’ll be on the depth chart after picking up Porter & Jenkins, and just how he develops overall. His interviews make him seem like a real genuine and grateful guy everybody can root for. We had two 2nd rounders and we went OT Watson & OLB Moore. I knew we would address OT eventually, and what I’ve heard about Watson is he’s a real physical specimen. He hasn’t played football long, so he has technique to get down. But with the players we have and the coaching staff, I can see him developing pretty well. I REALLY LIKE MOORE! His attitude, his confidence, bravado, the chip on his shoulder, everything. He’s real versatile too being able to play outside or put his hand on the ground & play end. He says he’s even played safety, but I don’t think we’ll be trying him there. I wanna see where he goes too with us still having Houston at end and picking up Hunter & Burnett who can both play DE or OLB. QB Wilson is really good too if he has time in the pocket. Real tough player. Hard to judge him from this past season with Arkansas’ problems overall, but film from the prior season shows him being pretty good. If it means anything too, before this past season the Razorbacks were ranked 5th in the preseason poll. He had to do something right the prior season to have them ranked that high. I’ve watched a few Razorback games before, so I’m excited to see if he pushes Flynn maybe…maybe. I didn’t want Barkley as some said we would get. Being an SC fan, I’ve already seen his “talent”. Wilson will be good to build competition at the QB spot. We got 2 TE in the 6th, which is something I thought we needed to address too. I haven’t looked into both of em, but I hope they are good catching TE. We have a couple good blocking TE, but replacing Myers receptions will be important and a QB needs a big guy to throw to when he’s in trouble or in the end zone. We also picked up another RB, Murray. I think this is just to get solid players behind D-Mac & Jennings since the world expects D-Mac to get hurt eventually. We drafted another DT & DE, McGee & Bass. I’m all in for getting more guys on the line. We really need them run stuffers and guys to put pressure on the QB, especially losing all the guys from our D-Line that we did from last year. Not our last pick, but we also got WR Butler. I’m down for WR with how inconsistent our wide-outs were last year. Ford hasn’t played since pre-season and Moore definitely fell off from his rookie year. You never know with Butler being a late round pick, especially with undrafted rookie last year Streater being successful. Hopefully he can be another gem. There are also those like Streater last year who are undrafted. Maybe another WR out there, a TE, a DT, and another body at safety would be nice. Overall I like how we filled the spots we needed with the picks we had. Obviously we couldn’t get everything & everybody we needed, but we did the best with what we got. I can’t really grade our draft since we gotta see how the players turn out, but at least things look bright for the Silver & Black! Let’s go RRRRAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIDDDDDDEEEERRRRSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let the competition begin!
We got a great athlete who has bonded well with the team & played alright in Week 17 last season, a guy who has a chip on his shoulder and has learned from one of the best QBs playing today, & a solid QB out of college that many say is NFL ready & with protection is pretty good.
At Cornerback for your Oakland Raiders, number 25 D.J. Hayden!
And with the 3rd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, the Oakland Raiders select…
